Bharay Karelay Recipe in Urdu

Ingredients:

1 kg Bitter melon
Mustered oil to fry
100 gram Ghee
1/4 ts Asafetida powder
1/4 cup Yogurt
1 ts Red chili powder
1 ts Ginger paste
2 ts Garlic paste
1/4 ts Onion paste
1 ts Coriander paste
100 ml Water

For Filling:

10gm Sugar
10 gm Salt
3 gm Cumin
120 gm Boiled potatoes
3 Tbs Mustered oil
10 gm Fennel seed
1/2 cup Dal channa
1 ts Red chilli powder

Recipe:

  • Peel off the bitter melon and cut it from the center.
  • Boil these peeled off bitter melon then fry them.
  • Take a pan, add all ingredients with the Asafetida powder and put them in oil.
  • Add water then simmer it for 10 – 15 minutes. The mixture is ready for filling.
  • Fill the bitter melon with this mixture and tie them with thread.
  • Fry these karelas in mustered oil for sufficient time.
